| Spring work is underway in my garden and it's time to take care of Guatemalan yuccas. My yuccas have grown a lot and are already sizable trees. | W moim ogrodzie trwają prace wiosenne i nadszedł czas na zaopiekowanie się jukami gwatemalskimi. Moje juki bardzo się rozrosły i są już sporymi drzewami. |

| Since in natural conditions Guatemalan yuccas grow in dry semi-deserts among cacti, they don't require any care on my part. All I do is cut off their old leaves. | Ponieważ w naturalnych warunkachjukki gwatemalskie rosną na suchych półpustyniach wśród kaktusów, nie wymagają żadnej troski z mojej strony. Jedyne co robię, to obcinam ich stare liście. |

| The young leaves point upward. The old ones point downward, turn yellow and then wither, and it doesn't look very nice. I like when my yuccas have the old leaves removed and you can see their nice, smooth bark and the shape of the branches. I like it when they are just well cared for. | Młode liście są skierowane do góry. Stare kierują się w dół, żółkną a potem usychają i nie wygląda to zbyt ładnie. Lubię gdy moje jukki mają usunięte stare liście i widać ich ładną, gładką korę oraz kształt konarów. Lubię gdy po prostu są zadbane. |

| However, this spring I couldn't take care of some of the branches because they were already too tall. Others were already overlooking the passage road, obscuring its edge with their plumes of leaves. They had to be cut down so I had to ask my husband for help. The yucca wood turned out to be very heavy and it took us quite a while to clean up the area after cutting down the tall and thick branches. | Jednak tej wiosny nie mogłam zadbać o kilka konarów bo były już za wysokie. Inne z kolei wychodziły już na drogę przejazdową zasłaniając jej brzeg swoimi pióropuszami liści. Trzeba było je ściąć więc musiałam poprosić o pomoc męża. Drewno jukki okazało się bardzo ciężkie i sporo czasu zajęło nam uporządkowanie terenu po ścięciu wysokich i grubych konarów. |

| Then I was able to get on with peeling off the old leaves. Most of them can simply be peeled off by hand, however, those still green hold tightly and a garden shears and patience are needed. | Potem mogłam już zająć się obrywaniem starych liści. Większość z nich można po prostu oderwać ręcznie jednak te jeszcze zielone trzymają się mocno i potrzebny jest sekator ogrodowy oraz cierpliwość. |

| My husband and grandson helped me that day. The little helper, of course, was looking for an opportunity to play involving us as well. | Tego dnia pomagał mi mąż oraz wnuk. Ten mały pomocnik szukał oczywiście okazji do zabawy wciągając w nią również nas. |

| To quickly and efficiently clean up the large amount of removed leaves, I used an olive net. You can simply drag it along the ground and take the leaves to a suitable place where they will be burned. | Żeby szybko i sprawnie uprzątnąć sporą ilość usuniętych liści, wykorzystałam siatkę do zbierania oliwek. Można ją ciągnąć po prostu po ziemi i zabrać liście w odpowiednie miejsce gdzie będą spalone. |

| The cut off tips of the yucca can be immediately put into the ground and enjoy the new plants. They are sure to take!Besides, new green plumes of leaves will quickly appear on the cut places. | Obcięte czubki jukki można od razu wsadzić do ziemi i cieszyć się nowymi roślinami.Na pewno się przyjmą!
